The Real Estate Process


Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to talk about the current trend in the real estate proccess. Although the finding the property part of this proccess has not changed, the time span from the time you find your property and close on the property has changed. The mortgage proccess has become elongated over the last year. What used to take 45-70 days now takes 90-180 days.

So how can you shorten this delay in getting your vacation home?

First be prepared with tax returns and documentation, it will be asked for so get it ready before you look at vacation homes. Do not make any major purchases or changes in your finances before going to get a mortgage. Start early in looking for your lake home, the season starts in Feb to early March for getting into a lake home by summer. Do these few things and you will be relaxing at the waters edge by the time it gets warm.
