Hi Everyone... Urgent news for Lakefront owners on Lake Wallenpaupack.

FEMA - has made most of the lakefronts on Lake Wallenpaupack considered in a flood zone.  This is incorrect information the flood level is 1190 , and most houses are above 1205 feet.  Lakefront owners who have loans will get letter from banks stating they need to get flood insurance. 

As lake front owners you may appeal this decision from FEMA and get an exclusion.  This requires getting a survey and elevation study done, and filing out forms to send into FEMA after study is complete.

They can do the study for you, the cost is $800.00, and they will also prepare paper
work as well for FEMA.  Approximate time to get the exclusion from  FEMA is
about 60 days after paper work is sent in.
